Sanabora Training
Sanabora Training Centre which is part of Sanabora Design House is registered under the Ministry of Education to offer technical training. The training centre aims at promoting creativity and innovation through design training and pioneering the development of new design knowledge.

Sanabora offers a wide range of programmes that meet the needs of individual students as well as market demands. As such, it prepares students to be professional and skilled individuals able to contribute positively to the development of communities in which they live and work.

Programmes range from short-term tailored courses to three-year diploma programmes.Sanabora engages the services of practising designers who bring with them professional experience and practical dimension to teaching.

Three design studios within Sanabora Design House are complimented by four production workshops, therefore providing adequate space for both theoretical and practical learning.

Admission to the school is restricted to 40 students under the full-time diploma programmes. Class sizes are limited to 20 students per program to guarantee students individual tuition and attention, to achieve valuable learning experience.

Opportunities
Diploma courses offered at Sanabora provide a transition between secondary school (O-level) and degree level study and provide students with the necessary qualification and portfolio of work for entry to university or employment.

Students are introduced to a variety of techniques and ideas to develop their design skills. During the courses, students visit design firms, galleries and museums, as well as large and cottage industries around East Africa.

The Hybrid Product Development program is specially tailored for artisans and manufacturers of various items in the Juakali sector. This course provides learners with skills required in developing competitive products for local and international markets.

Short courses offered at Sanabora aim at enhancing business performance through improved design practice.

Similarly, they offer design professionals and those aspire to lead design projects an opportunity to acquire design management skills. Learners develop a good understanding of the main principles of design and management, while enhancing their creative, cognitive and analytical skills. They also enjoy the opportunity to learn in a practical way as they apply acquired skills in work related situations.

Accessibility
Admission to diploma and certificate courses is by portfolio, assessment and interview; education to secondary school level is required (KCSE, Grade C-) as are references from previous schools or colleges. Portfolios should include work of an individual, nature, observational drawing as well as imaginative pieces.
Although entry to the Hybrid Product Development course only requires that one should have attained at least O’Level education, it is essential that candidates have an active curious mind and an interest in design. One should also be ready to explore new ideas as well as have the ability to communicate the ideas.
