Aim
The certificate in Product Design course aims at preparing students to participate effectively in designing new products required by consumers each year.

Objectives
  • To develop creative, conceptual, visualization and communication skills.
  • To impart Modern Technical knowledge as a means of investigating new forms and solutions.
  • To explore the development of art and design across the years.

Course Structure
Course work emphasizes the following:
  • Design Process
  • Form and Function
  • Economic, Socio-cultural and Technological issues.
  • References are also made to historical developments of the design practice.

By understanding how historical and cultural issues influence design, students begin to develop designs relevant and appropriate to their society.

In response to modern manufacturing processes, the Product Design program
focuses on preparing students through extensive use of computer aided design.

The local manufacturers provide nearby workshop situations and opportunities for collaboration on product design for actual markets.
